I've  always been interested in and working with real estate and finance.  My first job as a teenager was helping my mother, a successful real estate broker, maintain her listing’s book.  I often accompanied my mother while showing property to prospective buyers.  This was probably the start of my love of real estate and all things related to home ownership.

I graduated from the University of New Haven with a BS degree in business, conferred summa cum laude.  I received a number of school awards prior to graduation including Most Outstanding Woman Student of the University and Most Outstanding Senior in the School of Business.  I've always been a champion of equal rights for all.  I've marched in Chicago for the Equal Rights Amendment and was a Connecticut Board Member of the National Organization for Women in 1978 & 1979.  I received my MBA in Finance from the University of Houston while working full time as a financial analyst for the Horne Company, the largest commercial realtor in Houston, TX.

I spent 10 years living in Saudi Arabia and I have traveled extensively throughout the Middle East, northern Africa, Asia & Europe.  While traveling and exploring foreign countries is fun and enlightening, it made me truly appreciate our great country and the rights we take for granted that are not given elsewhere.  After moving to Orlando in 1997, I worked for Island One Resorts as the Financial Reporting Manager.  During that time, I purchased my Windermere home and used a mortgage broker to arrange the home loan.  Having been overseas for so many years, this was the first I'd ever heard of a "mortgage broker" but it looked like the perfect career path for me – real estate combined with finance.

After becoming a licensed broker in January 1999, I first worked for US Financial (formerly SUSA) for one year.  I then worked for the Huntington Mortgage Company, a division of Huntington Bank, headquartered in Ohio.  It was at Huntington that I learned about all types of loan programs, processing and underwriting requirements.

In 2001, I started my own company, the Windermere Mortgage Company.  Unfortunately, the severe decline in the economy, as well as the many changes in mortgage loan regulations, made it impossible for most small mortgage companies to survive.  I closed my company in 2010 but it is with great pride that the Windermere Mortgage Company maintained an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau for the 9 years we were in operation.
